At Backyard Taco, Mexcellence goes far beyond making the best Mexican food in the Valley. To us, Mexcellence means going above and beyond to support and uplift our community whenever we can.

We care deeply about all the families who come through our doors to enjoy a meal, as well as those who may be facing tough circumstances and are unable to visit. While we do not publicize every act of giving – because honestly, there would be a lot – we are proud to share a few key opportunities and partnerships that help us make a positive difference in the Phoenix Valley.

Dining to Donate Fundraising Program

Enjoy a Mexcellent meal and raise money for your favorite charity or organization with our Dining to Donate Program.

At Backyard Taco we are committed to supporting our neighboring schools, your sports teams and all non-profit organizations. Our Dining to Donate Fundraising Program allows the local community to not only enjoy the authentic taste of Tacos al Carbon but also help local organizations raise money for some great causes.

To learn more or schedule a fundraiser, please contact us with the name of your school/organization, contact name, phone number and when you would like to hold the event. A member of our fundraising team will contact you to begin the planning process.

Minimum Lead Time: Requests must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the event/donation date in order to be considered.

20% BACK

Backyard Taco Fundraisers give back 20% of the Event Sales.

In order for purchases to count towards your fundraising event, your supporters must either:

show a physical fundraiser flyer OR
show a digital flyer on a smartphone or other mobile device.

Delivery orders or orders placed at a different time than your scheduled event will not count towards your fundraiser.

Here’s how it works:

1. Schedule your event

Fill out the Dining to Donate Inquiry Form with details regarding your organization and a member of our Fundraising Team will contact you to collect your W9, schedule your date and get you a customized promotional flyer!

2. Promote and Dine

Spread the word – whether it’s by email, Facebook, Instagram or a printed flyer, you’ll want everyone to know when and how they can support your organization.

3. Earn

20% of all sales generated by the supporters of your organization will be donated back to your group!

FAQ’s

1. Is my group eligible?

Any non-profit organization is eligible to host a fundraiser with Backyard Taco (Schools, sports teams, churches, national associations, scout troops, charitable causes, hospitals, local fundraisers, etc.) We will require a completed W9 for verification and tax purposes.

2. What percentage of sales from the fundraising event does my organization receive?

20% of all net sales from Dine In, Take Out, Catering and Group Events.

3. How does my organization receive credit for purchases?

Guests will show the restaurant the flyer and it will be automatically applied towards the fundraiser.

4. Are there specific dates or times that I can host my fundraiser on?

Fundraisers can be scheduled any Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, and they will run during the designated times for the event (Does not include Holidays).

5. How often can my organization host an event?

Dining for Dollars fundraisers can be held at Backyard Taco once a year per organization

6. Can I use a tax exemption form?

No, the host must provide a W-9 form for approval.

7. When can I expect my Fundraiser check?

2-3 weeks after the event.

8. What if I have more questions about the program?

Please fill out the Dining to Donate Inquiry Form and someone from Backyard Taco will be able to assist you!

Eligibility

We will not provide charitable support for organizations in the following categories:

Individuals (scholarships, stipends, fellowships, personal assistance)
For-profit ventures
Religious groups for religious purposes
Capital campaigns, endowment funds or memorials
Lobbying, political or fraternal activities
Individual study, research or travel grants

DISCRIMINATION

Backyard Taco will not support organizations that discriminate against a person or a group on the basis of age, political affiliation, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.
