Local schools, youth sports teams, PTOs, clubs, nonprofits, and community groups are always looking for simple ways to raise money without making everyone buy one more candle, coupon book, or mystery tub of popcorn.
That is where a Backyard Taco fundraiser comes in.
With our Dining to Donate program, local groups can bring their supporters together for fresh tacos, burritos, bowls, and more while earning money back from qualifying event sales. It is an easy way to support your group, feed your familia, and enjoy a night out at Backyard Taco.
What Is a Backyard Taco Fundraiser?
A Backyard Taco fundraiser is a restaurant fundraising event where an approved school, team, nonprofit, club, or local organization invites supporters to dine with us during a scheduled event.
During the fundraiser, a percentage of qualifying sales goes back to the participating group. Guests get to enjoy their Backyard Taco favorites, and the organization earns money to support programs, activities, supplies, events, travel, uniforms, or other needs.
It is fundraising with tacos. Honestly, not a bad plan.
Who Can Host a Dining to Donate Event?
Backyard Taco fundraisers are a great fit for many types of local groups, including:
- Schools

- Youth sports teams
- Clubs and student organizations

That means your supporters can enjoy their favorite tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, Papa Locas, aguas frescas, and more while helping your group raise money.
Before your event, make sure your supporters know any details required for their purchase to count toward the fundraiser, such as mentioning the fundraiser when they order or following the event instructions provided.

The best fundraisers feel less like an obligation and more like a community night out.

Why Restaurant Fundraisers Work for Schools, Teams, and Local Groups
Restaurant fundraisers are popular because they are simple. Supporters do not have to buy something they do not need or attend a complicated event. They just eat at a local restaurant and help raise money at the same time.
For busy families, that matters.
After school, practice, work, errands, and everything else life throws into the schedule, grabbing dinner at Backyard Taco is an easy way to support a good cause without adding one more big commitment.
Backyard Taco Gives Back to Arizona Communities
Dining to Donate is part of the larger Backyard Taco Gives Back effort. We are proud to support the Arizona communities that have supported us, from Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler, Laveen, and beyond.
Backyard Taco started as a backyard carne asada tradition, and community has always been part of the story. Fundraisers give us another way to help local schools, teams, nonprofits, and organizations bring people together.
Make It a Community Night Out
Some of the most successful Backyard Taco fundraisers are the ones that feel like a true community event.
We have had elementary and high school jazz bands perform on our patios during fundraiser nights, and those events have been a great way to bring out family, friends, classmates, teachers, and supporters. When there is a performance, the fundraiser becomes more than dinner. It becomes a reason for people to gather, cheer on students, enjoy fresh food, and support the group at the same time.
If your school, team, club, or organization has a way to bring people together, like a student music performance, team celebration, club meetup, or community night, a Backyard Taco fundraiser can be a great fit.
The more your event feels like something people want to attend, the more successful your fundraiser can be.
